As you know last week was a crazy week. On Friday of course on the busiest day Skylar misses her bus so I ended up having to bring her to school on top of everything else for the day. Right after I dropped Sky off I had to pick up my little brother then drop him off at school. Jaxson had three specialist appointments. All of his specialist are in Portland, so not only a long day of appointments but lots of driving. His first appointment was with the Endocrinologist. They measured his height and weight He now weighs 35 pounds and is almost 3 feet 3 inches tall which means he grew an inch and gained a pound since September! I'm so happy that he is finally gaining weight consistently and getting taller. He has been on the growth hormone shot for a year and a half. He is finally on a healthy growth curve. The doctor said he was very impressed with his growth and that he is going to continue with the same dose for now. After we left the office I was starving so we stopped at Wendy's. And let me tell you it was the worst meal I have ever eaten from Wendy's. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe. One would think that a cheeseburger would one of the easiest things they make right? Well im not sure if they were just busy or what but my burger was lukewarm the cheese wasn't even melted! The fries were also cold, soggy and had absolutely no salt on them needless to say I was very disappointed. We then headed to his next appointment which was the Geneticist. Since he had already had his stats taken that morning he didn't have to have them taken again...Thank God! lol. Because Jax can be very stubborn about getting his blood pressure, height and weight taken. He is a wiggly worm. The only new concern that the Geneticist had was that his knee joints are starting get a little stiff. Which is causing him to drag his feet when he walks and runs. It may just be the growth hormone is giving him have growing pains or it may be nothing. We are going to keep an eye on it just incase. Some exciting news...Mainecare is going to hopefully be approving genome testing in the next few months. I'm not sure if its for everyone or if its case by case. However this means that Jaxson may FINALLY get an official diagnosis!!! You can not even fathom how excited and relieved I will feel. I'm sure it wont change any of the services he receives but it will be nice to know what to expect for the future. So thankfully his last appointment is in the same office so we got to stay in the same room. But by the time he we met with the Developmentalist the last doctor Jax was literally bouncing off the walls and get up on my lap and getting down and pulling cords. She didn't really say anything different then the other two doctors. It was pretty much just to check in and see how everything is going. The only place we had to go after all the appointments was to pick up Jaxson's two cases of diapers at the medical supply store. After we left there Jax was totally exhausted as was I. Jax slept the whole way home I wish I could have to although that would be kind of dangerous lol.
So all in all everything went well with Jaxson's appointments :).
This is the perfect time to start talking about how I keep every thing organized in my life. I have a Dayrunner binder that is always with me. Without my binder I would absolutely lose my mind! Not even joking. I always have so much going on that in order to keep it all straight I have to write it down. There is no way that this brain of mine is able to keep track of everything I need to do daily, grocery lists, dr appointments, sending out signed paper work, IEPs, ITPs, counseling, horseback riding, blog ideas, cleaning schedules and a multitude of other things.
Here is just a sneak peak into my binder. Check back at the end of the week for a more detailed post and possibly a video about my binder. Have a great week Lovelies!
